St. Emydius 2013 Luncheon

We gathered together at Boudin's on the wharf in the forward banquet room for a luncheon on Saturday, April 27. The weather was spectacular (bright and sunny) and the wharf was mobbed. It was wonderful meeting of old friends. At this gathering, we were excited to get reacquainted with Graciela Velez Ryder, who came in from Pachecho to join our group. It's remarkable how you can meet folks from our class and pick up right where you left off. Even though we've changed physically, we're still the same inside.

Attending were:
  • David & Cythia Breslin
  • Bill Duggan
  • Don & Gail Haderle
  • Dan & Sue Hallisy
  • Kitty McCarthy Wehrmeister
  • Barry & Vicki MacNamara
  • Clair Steach Poulsen
  • Marty & Sue Tierney
  • Graciela Velez Ryder
  • Amy Walsh Hanley
Some of our usual attendees had conflicts:
  • Carole Esola was on a trip
  • John Fitzgerald was celebrating a wedding anniversary
  • Tom Harvey was recovering from a stay in the hospital for edema
  • Brian & Rosalind Henning had house guests
  • Irene Hogan Deem was caring for her siblings
  • Fran Krsinich was in Arizona
  • Catherine Martin Conway was engaged in a cause
  • Paul Mayer, who lives in Oregon, was coming down to the bay area in June and couldn't handle two trips.
  • Armando Martinez had another engagement
  • Jim Morena was on the road
  • John Mulhall had an engagement in Washington state.
  • Steve Paris was getting tipsy on a winery tour in Napa.
Since we're all retired or nearly retired, I'm thinking of moving the luncheon to midweek to avoid the crush of traffic in San Francisco on the weekend. And I'm thinking of moving the luncheon to mid May. I'll send out a query and get your opinion.

Louie Giraudo, Star of the Sea class of 1960, is one of the owners of Boudin's, who many of us know from our youth. I chanced upon Louie in the main dining room and he joined us for 10 minutes. You never know who you'll bump into.
